Hair removal reviews are to be found on many internet sites but one thing should be remembered, what suits your friend or family member may not suit you and your skin. It is necessary to try the various methods to find the one that causes you the least discomfort and removes your unwanted hair with the most efficiency at the cost best suited to your pocket.

For some shaving is still the best way as it is cheap and easy, although time consuming. Some use electric shavers but with both of these methods hair grows back quickly. For others, sugaring or gel removal gives the best results with hairs becoming finer after prolonged use.

Yet again for some, waxing at a studio or salon is the most convenient method. This obviously costs more but you don’t have to do it yourself and generally fewer hairs are missed especially in those hard-to-see areas.

Finally laser or electrolysis can be used if you are in a position to afford them. You can go longer between removal of hairs and they do become finer and less noticeable but some discomfort can be caused and blotchy skin may be seen for a day or two.

Permanent hair remover

Permanent hair removal is unfortunately almost impossible to achieve. Until now many manufacturers of creams and lotions have claimed permanent removal but the hair keeps growing back. Two methods are being used at the moment in salons that promise permanent removal, but most people find that after 6 or 7 visits the hair is finer but still grows back. Treatment is very expensive over a period of time and can be quite uncomfortable.

The two main methods salons use are laser treatment, where the laser is targeted over a small area and a pulse is sent into the follicle every second and damages it until the hair doesn’t grow. A local anaesthetic is used to numb the skin and you can look blotchy for a day or two after treatment. Hairs tend to be missed and repeat visits are needed.

The other method is electrolysis. This is where an electric shock is sent into each individual hair follicle and shocks the follicle into not growing anymore. This is a long process and also can require a local anaesthetic to numb the skin. As in the former example, hairs can be missed and repeat visits are required.

Until a confirmed method of permanent removal is found, it may be cheaper and less painful to continue using gels and wax to remove unwanted hairs. This of course can be done at home for a fraction of the cost and inconvenience of salon treatments.

Hair removal gel is considered by many to be one of, if not the safest form of hair removal. It doesn’t require heating, so you will not burn yourself, and is water soluble, so will not stain clothing and furniture.

The gel is used at room temperature and comes with muslin strips, which are washable and reusable, to take off the hair. It is made of all natural products but should be tested in a small area first just in case an adverse reaction to the gel happens.

When you have removed the hair just shower and wash off the residue. It is so simple, has a sweet taste and will not harm you if accidentally eaten. It can be used on all parts of the body including sensitive areas like eyebrows, top lip and bikini area.

After regular use, the hair becomes finer and grows less quickly. It is not so effective on blond fine hair, but for dark course hair it does the job perfectly. Gel removes hair for up to 6 weeks and needs to be 1/8” to 1/4” long to be most effective. It can be expensive but by shopping around you will see a big difference in price and it is much more cost effective than using a salon.

Nads hair removal

Nads hair removal has a growing reputation throughout the hair removal market as they cater to both men and women who wish to remove unwanted hair without shaving or expensive salon treatments.

The women’s range includes Original gel, Facial Wand, Handsfree Coarse and Sensitive, Facial Strips, Hair removal strips and Brazilian and Bikini Kit amongst others. The range covers all aspects of hair removal and offers natural products that are kind and gentle on the skin.

The men’s range offers Men’s Handsfree Creme, Men’s Hair Removal Strips, Ingrow Solution, Men’s Exfol and Men’s Depileze to name but a few. These are also dermatologically tested but care in both ranges is advisable, small areas must be tested first to ensure no adverse skin reaction.

The range of products is wide-ranging and realistically priced and in many cases cheaper than it’s larger competitors. More products are being added to the range all the time as more testing is done. It is also getting kinder and safer for the skin.

It is a must to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations at all times to prevent damage to the skin and unnecessary discomfort or pain. Remember these products have been tested (but not on animals).

Sugaring hair removal is very similar to waxing in that it pulls the hair out by the root but is considerably more gentle than waxing. Sugaring is also a lot faster than waxing because large areas can be covered at the same time unlike waxing that has to be done in small sections.

The paste or gel is made from all natural ingredients like lemon juice, water and sugar and recipes are available on the internet. The right consistency or thickness must be used to be effective and this is by trial and error. Some of the main advantages are that if some hairs are missed then areas can be gone over again. It is easy to clean after use because of the natural ingredients and it can easily be done at home.

Some hair growth is needed so that the mix has something to stick to and over a period of time it can cause the hair to stop growing completely. It is not as painful as waxing as the hairs are pulled out in the direction of growth unlike waxing when you go against the direction of growth.

Sugaring is more expensive than waxing in a salon but can be done at home by your self for a fraction of the cost and kits can be found in online shopping malls or stores.
